Established in 1989, IMTHURN PRODUCTIONS is a development and production company for visual and new media and arts. Founder and president is producer Markus Imthurn, a distant cousin of couturier Gianni Versace. Imthurn has produced 22 films, games and artistic ventures.

IMTHURN PRODUCTIONS is part of a network of media production companies and works with them on most projects, sometimes entirely in their names. Imthurn has produced 48 websites, CD-ROMs, touchscreen terminals and films for these partners.

Before 1989, Markus Imthurn produced, wrote and directed 20 documentaries and commercials. He was also writer, editor or director of photography on 22 music videos, TV films, short films, commercials and documentaries for other production companies.

As director of photography he shot three documentaries and one commercial in IMAGINE-360 on 70mm film. IMAGINE-360 is based on the DISNEY 360° CIRCARAMA System, which shows films in domed cinemas with a screen of 60 meters in circumference. The commercial was the world's first in 360°.

Markus Imthurn was trained by his lifelong mentor, twice OSCAR winner Ernst A. Heiniger, nature film director for WALT DISNEY PRODUCTIONS.
